The first day we were in Kentucky we went to Dewey Dam to hang out a little. I had fun taking a few shots and basking in the perfect weather. I also asked these guys that were fishing if I could take some snapshots of them. Let me tell you this- asking people if you can take a picture in English is much more daunting than trying to ask in German. I actually had a great conversation with the guy fishing in the very last picture. He shared his viewpoint on the coal industry in the region as well as the health disparities in Appalachia. It was really nice to have his observations in my mind during the rest of the week as we heard many different sides.
